Project: K-6 e-Portfolio Curriculum

As the Director of Instructional Technology at the Boston Renaissance Charter Public School (2008-2012) I wrote and co-taught a 6th grade e-portfolio curriculum that empowered students to share their stories of personal growth and academic achievement in the form of video and audio. The curriculum addressed the Massachusetts Technology Standards and the ISTE Standards for Students.

Students were taught to collect, scan and reflect on their best academic work and storyboard and create their digital stories. They shared their final movies as part of a school-wide graduation showcase. Students and community members voted for their favorites in categories such as Best Sound and Best Editing and awards were presented to the winners. Every student graduated with their own e-portfolio and for many, the experience of sharing their personal story for the first time.

An example of the written curriculum can be shared upon request.
